So, on my birthday weekend I thought why not go get my project done for my photo 3 class... I was so insanely satisfied with my shoot and definitely something to celebrate about!!!!! I am in no way a "planner" but I really tried to put that aside this time around. Some how I just had a vision on how I wanted this shoot to come out and not to toot my own horn but..... I nailed it! I found the perfect model,  with the perfect red streaks in her hair, the perfect make up, the perfect accessory, perfect background color and the perfect lighting. Well in my opinion, that is what I was going for. I know there is no such thing as 'perfect' but I think this is pretty much up there. When I told people about my idea for this shoot, no one really thought too much about it but that didn't stop nor change my vision. In life I believe that it is good to take risks, be out there, and stick to your gut feeling! In this case I really feel like it paid off.  I am very proud of my work! And this only fuels me to make me want to top this photo shoot with something even better! This is my next big challenge.

Jim Lennon's Studio

So today, instead of sitting in the classroom we had an awesome opportunity to meet in a photographers studio, see heads on what it's really like to be a successful photographer, and what hard work and effort goes into all of it. Jim Lennon is the photographer who let us in his studio and told it like it is. I wasn't too surprised to hear all of the effort and work that goes into building up your career. I admired his images hanging up on the wall while I sat there and waited for everything to get started. This is my second year of studying photography but still, what I was about to hear was a lot. However, thats what I was pretty much expecting. Visiting really made me think and question myself about what type of photography I want to be doing or if I even want to have this as my career. I am just starting to love photographing people and bringing out their personality. Also, i enjoy abstract photography and i dabble in the technique of ghosting.
Who wouldn't want to do what they love and have a passion for, for a living? Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me! Not saying that it will be easy, but why not try? A wise man once said... ~"If you do what you love.. you don't work a single day of your life"~

Holly

So my awesome friend Holly calls me up one day and tells me how she wants to model for me. I thought this was great! So I tried to think of ideas of how to photograph her and it hit me.. Holly is one of my close friends and I know a little something about her personality. She is a wild, wacky, unique... yet, classy and kindhearted. So that was what i was aiming for in this particular shoot... I think i succeed, what do you think? :)
